WHY DO WE USE THE

KING JAMES ?

We believe that the King James Version Bible is the Word of God and it is the SOLE authority on every subject.  Why does The Church of Jesus Christ use the King James Version Bible?  When you study the History of the Bible you will find that throughout history there have been many changes that have been made to the scriptures.  Little things at first but then through time bigger changes were done.  Through these changes the meaning of many of the scriptures was lost.  Often time’s men in the pursuit of proving that their beliefs were correct would change the Bible to fit their beliefs.   Much like Chinese telephone that you would play as a child the message through time was lost or changed from its original meaning.  Examples of these changes can be found in the following scriptures:

King James Version

John 1:11-13

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

New American Standard Bible

John 1:11-13

11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.

12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

New Living Translation

John 1:11-13

11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

13 They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

The Message

John 1:11-13
11 He came to his own people, but they didn't want him.
12 But whoever did want him, who believed he was who he claimed and would do what he said, He made to be their true selves, their child-of-God selves.
13 These are the God-begotten, not blood-begotten, not flesh-begotten, not sex-begotten.

You might say don’t they all mean the same thing?  No.  The answer comes to light when you hear preachers use these passages to prove their plan of salvation's.  Notice in the New Living Translation the words and accepted him is added to the scriptures.  Because of this addition and others like it preachers were able to say that all one needed to do to be saved is accept Jesus and they can become a child of God.  Though at first it might be innocent but the harsh reality is that through these little changes new doctrine have popped up pulling more people away from the truth into some false doctrine.  When you look at the fall of Adam and his wife it only took Satan to add the word “not” into the commandment that God had given in which the end result was death.  The Bible also gives us warnings about changing Gods’ word.

Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The reason why we hold the King James Bible so dear is because it is oldest and purest translation of the original scriptures that we have today from the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts that were used by the early Christians.  This Bible was the Bible of choice by the early Americans and still the Bible of choice by those that are in The Church of Jesus Christ.   Through the use of the King James Version Bible many have found salvation and have come to the revelation of who Jesus Christ really is.

What about those that say the King James Bible is too hard to understand?  Many people try to say that they just can not understand the language that is used in the King James Bible.  Often time’s people will say that they can not understand the “them and thous” or some other words that are not currently used in common English today.  The King James Bible doesn’t take an English major to understand.  If people that have little or no education can read and understand the scriptures the way they are then how is it that people today with the education that they have are not able to understand simple scriptures of the Bible?  The sad fact is that they just do not want too.  Many use this excuse so they are able to easy their minds so they will be able to except the new doctrines that are in the world today.

Psalms 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

SINCE THE WORD OF GOD IS FOREVER

SETTLED IN HEAVEN:

THEN WHERE DOES MEN HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE WORD OF GOD?
